Ham Rong mountain and Botanical Garden

Being shaped like a dragon’s head dimly looming in the thin veil of the early morning, Ham Rong Mountain (Dragon Jaw Mountain) is a fine combination of man-made and natural landscape is an attractive tourist area in the center of Sapa town. Ham Rong Mountain is a small, 1800 meter high mountain that belongs to the majestic Hoang Lien Son Range. Situated about 30 kilometers from Lao Cai Town and in the center of Sapa town, it just take a few minutes for visitors to walk from their hotel, pass Sapa church and reach the foot of the Mountain.

Ham Rong mountain and Botanical Garden

Half day

We begin by walking through bustling Sapa market and past the Century old church to make our way up the western slope of Ham Rong (Dragon's Jaw) mountain to the botanical gardens. From here we have an impressive view over Sapa town (on a clear day). To descend from the mountain we take the nature trail down the back of Ham Rong mountain. This path offers us the opportunity to see Sapa's rural landscape and visit the Black H'Mong villages on the way.
